Design Associates Inc.

We believe that raw built mass transmutes to architecture only when it is underpinned by reason and animated by ideals. Concepts like sustainability, accessibility and economy are intrinsic to our rigorous design process and while we dovetail our strategy with our clients vision, what we value and nurture most is that creative spark which introduces the element of delight into design. Tradition, Context - Physical or Social, Faith, Aspiration, Material, Longevity, even bare function have all been determinants in our design process, however an overarching civic vision has meant that our architecture has remained both contextual and responsive. While we have integrated digital technology into the design process and at times express it in architectural form, we are equally able to embrace tradition and showcase it in our work - be it by adopting traditional building typologies, construction technology, materials and craft skills. In the process, we have over the years, built a diverse and extensive portfolio of projects ranging from Healthcare, Key Government Buildings, Monuments, Educational, Urban Design, Landscape, Commercial & Offices, Paramilitary, Heritage & Tourism and Housing & Residential to Interior and Product Design.

We create built environments that are contextually sensible and responsive. The contextual compatibility is never sacrificed for pompous flamboyance .The historical, traditional and social attributes of the selected site are given utmost attention so as to retain them in our design. It reflects a high degree of artistic design and convey local context, societal aspirations and sometimes political statements as well. These combined with latest economic and medical trends along with contemporary design set new benchmarks for healing and healthcare sector. Our Approach

We are believers and doers. We believe that a blend of technology, tradition and creativity bolstered by reason and vision can create splendid spaces. The Vitruvian triad of Firmness, utility and beauty is the north star of our design process. We strive to tread on this golden path of by channeling our best efforts towards the physical robustness, the actual functionality and the aesthetic appeal of the built environment.

Our Studio

Our studio is built as a hub of exuberance and creativity. It is a space made of architects, by architects and for architects. With an isolated microclimate of its own, our studio is conducive to a free flow of energy and ideas. Ample ventilation and verdant ambience add to its reinvigorating quality. This fine space is complemented by its eminent occupants. Be it a fresher or the director, everyone adds value to space and to themselves. The flow of ideas and energy is equally free among us with little regard to the nominal hierarchy. Every fledgeling idea of us is cherished and given a chance to transpire with deserved enhancements.
